Discover Glória & Catete: Rio's Charming Neighborhoods

The Traditional Residential Areas of Rio de Janeiro

Glória and Catete are two very traditional neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, representing peaceful residential areas. The region spans from the Glória Metro Stop southwards to Botafogo bay. Today, this area is experiencing a revival as entrepreneurs recognize its strategic location and charm. The 19th-century houses, along with their close proximity to downtown and Copacabana, make it an ideal locale. Catete is known for its many historic buildings and mansions, particularly along its main streets, Glória Street and Catete Street.
